The Employees Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) is a statutory body of the Government of India under the Ministry of Labour and Employment. It administers a compulsory contributory Provident Fund Scheme, Pension Scheme and an Insurance Scheme for all salaried employees in India. EPFO also provides social security benefits to workers by providing them with financial assistance during times of need such as retirement, disability or death. Additionally, it helps employers manage their payrolls more efficiently by offering online services like e-filing returns, checking balance statements and making payments directly from employer accounts.
